For guidance on how we can best serve local nonprofits, we turn to the very organizations we aim to serve. Input from participants of the advisory councils ensures we’re providing the supports and services needed by nonprofit organizations to help strengthen Linn County.

There are currently two advisory councils which consist of nonprofit leaders or members of their Boards. They include:

Nonprofit Advisory Council

The Nonprofit Advisory Council includes nonprofit leaders who provide input and counsel on activities and programs of the Community Foundation for the staff and Board of Directors to consider. They provide a nonprofit perspective while promoting the nonprofit sector. Four meetings are held per year.

Nonprofit Investment Advisory Council

The Nonprofit Investment Advisory Council provides a nonprofit perspective and recommendations to the Investment Committee at the Community Foundation. Members of the Council are nonprofit fundholders with greater than $1 million in endowment assets, along with rotating representation from the remaining nonprofit fund holders to ensure small, medium and large asset sizes are represented. This Advisory Council meets quarterly with the Community Foundation’s investment consultant
