Home Teachers & Students Teachers Seeking Funding

Because of donors who care about education, the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation has funding available to support classroom education projects in Linn County public schools for grades K-12 that cannot be funded through the school’s budget.

Each year the Community Foundation has $30,000 available in matching funds from its Fund for Educational Excellence.

The Community Foundation has partnered with DonorsChoose to match gifts to help fund classroom projects in Linn County, Iowa.

About DonorsChoose

DonorsChoose is a nonprofit organization that makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need.

How it works:  Public school teachers create classroom project requests; donors can give any amount to the projects that inspire them; and the Community Foundation provides a 1:1 match for donations to projects of $2,000 or less.

Our 1:1 Match

The Community Foundation’s 2024 match became available on DonorsChoose on August 1, 2024, and was completed on September 12, 2024, having helped to fund 126 projects in 25 schools, supporting 82 teachers.
