Donors Supporting Education

For donors interested in supporting education, there are several giving options to explore.  We encourage you to contact the Community Foundation to learn how we can help you fulfill your charitable intentions.

The Fund for Educational Excellence:

The endowed Fund for Educational Excellence (FFEE) was created in 1990 by a group of business, school, and private community leaders for the benefit of Linn County K-12 students. Since that time FFEE has annually made grant awards to support teachers in creative, innovative, and effective classroom projects.

In 2016, the Community Foundation again partnered with to match gifts to help fund classroom projects in Linn County, Iowa. is a nonprofit organization that makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Linn County public school teachers had the opportunity to submit classroom project requests to; donors were able to give any amount to the projects that inspired them; and the Community Foundation provided a 1:1 match for each donation for projects totaling $2,500 or less. The funding supported 86 teacher projects benefiting 8,602 Linn County students! To view the teacher projects supported in 2016, go to the Community Foundation’s Partner Page.
