Donor-Advised Funds Offer Flexibility and Convenience

Donor-advised funds are one of the most popular giving vehicles in modern philanthropy. They’re flexible and convenient, and they can help your community—and you—get the most out of your gift.

How a Donor-Advised Fund Works

Give

Once you’ve established a donor-advised fund, you can contribute to the fund at any time. Give whatever type of asset works for you. Gifts typically qualify for a tax deduction in the year(s) you give.

Grow

Endowed funds held at the Community Foundation are invested to preserve and enhance the value of the original gift while allowing for regular distributions, or grants. This means that your gift and its impact will continue to grow over time, benefitting the community forever.

Grant

When you’re ready, you can recommend a grant from the donor-advised fund to any qualifying nonprofit organizations. As our community’s needs and opportunities evolve, you can be ready to support the organizations that are strengthening Linn County.
