Nonprofit Party at the Museum
On Thursday, November 7, 2024, the Community Foundation hosted the Nonprofit Party at the Museum. The Nonprofit Party is an annual celebration of local nonprofit professionals and the incredible work they do to strengthen our community. The 2024 party was held at African American Museum of Iowa in Cedar Rapids.
The Spirit of Minnie Rubek
The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation honors nonprofit employees (leaders or staff members) or founders of Linn County nonprofit organizations with a Spirit of Minnie Rubek recognition. The recognition goes to a nonprofit professional who has gone “above and beyond” in their commitment and dedication to their organization and its mission, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness of the organization. They exhibit the spirit of Minnie Rubek in their nonprofit work.
The 2024 Spirit of Minnie Rubek honorees were recognized at the Nonprofit Party at the Museum on November 7. Named after an early Community Foundation donor who had a quiet but lasting impact, the Spirit of Minnie Rubek recognizes those that quietly work to strengthen Linn County. This year, 25 nonprofit professionals were submitted for the honor by their colleagues.
Past Nonprofit Professional Recognitions and Honorees
The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation has been recognizing nonprofit professionals since 2002 through several recognitions and awards for their leadership, commitment and dedication to the mission of their organizations.
