Our Story
Since 1949, we’ve partnered with donors and nonprofits to build a more vibrant and equitable Linn County where all people can thrive. Those who established our organization in 1949 understood that it would take significant time and effort to create the community resource they envisioned. Over the years, thousands of donors have contributed to the Community Foundation, and thousands of community members have relied on nonprofits to meet their needs and improve their quality of life. Mural to Mark Milestone
One way we’re marking this significant milestone is the installation a mural on the East side of our building that will serve as a visual representation of the work of our organization and the impact it has made on our community. The 75th Anniversary Mural Project will not only beautify our building and serve as a downtown destination, but it will also serve as a symbol of our dedication to our mission and vision that have guided us throughout our history.
We’re proud to partner with Murals & More and the Downtown Cedar Rapids SSMID Commission in bringing this project to life! We are currently selecting the artist and design concept. More information will be coming soon!
Events to Celebrate 75 Years
