Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation Approves Over $3.6 Million in Grants
The board of directors of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation has recently approved $3.68 million in grants to 106 local nonprofits. These grants are from the Funds for the Community Cycle 3, Linn County Fund, Disaster Recovery Fund, COVID-19 Disaster Response Fund, and the Creating Safe, Equitable and Thriving Communities (SET) Fund.
The grant awards also include distributions from donor-advised, designated, scholarship, signature and agency funds—all of which are supported by local donors. The Community Foundation works to be a partner in charitable giving by connecting these donors to the nonprofits that serve Linn County.
During this grant cycle, the Community Foundation received over $1.5 million in requests for competitive grants and was able to grant $1.1 million—about 73% of the requested amount.
A list of the nonprofit organizations who received competitive grant awards from the Community Foundation are included below.
