ABOUT
The Kennedy Choral League engages and inspires young singers, musicians and the greater community through its support of compelling performances, innovative collaborations and stimulating outreach activities. At a time when many of our youth are challenged with choices, both good and bad, KCL helps channel that energy to good by supporting education, musical excellence, performance opportunities, collaboration, sportsmanship and leadership in the arts. KCL’s primary community outreach initiative is Raise the Roof!, a nationally positioned, annual show choir competition at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse event center. This unique opportunity pulls together students from across Cedar Rapids, Iowa and across the Midwest to apply their talents at the country’s only show choir competition held in a concert arena setting. KCL also funds student scholarships and pays participation fees for students in need.
