Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation Approves Over $4.8 Million in Grants

The Board of Directors of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation recently approved $4.84 million in grants to 226 nonprofit organizations. The awards include competitive Organizational Support Grants, Program Support Grants, and Linn County Grants; as well as distributions from donor-advised, designated, scholarship and agency funds. 

The Community Foundation works with donors and provides grants and support to nonprofits in pursuit of a vibrant and inclusive Linn County. In 2021, the Community Foundation distributed over $20 million in grants. 

The Community Foundation’s competitive grant programs are supported by gifts from donors who have entrusted the Community Foundation to make grants that address ever-changing community needs and opportunities. The funds support efforts related to innovation, maintaining success and building capacity through a competitive grantmaking process. During this grant cycle, the Community Foundation received over $1.3 million in requests for competitive grants and was able to fund $730,656 (or about 56% of the requested amount).
