Karla Twedt-Ball has been part of the Community Foundation since 2007 and has served as President & CEO since 2023. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to strengthening communities by building meaningful relationships, supporting systems that help everyone thrive, and fostering collaboration around shared goals.

Karla is deeply inspired by the role community foundations play in bringing together donors, nonprofit leaders, and community members to create lasting impact. She brings extensive experience in philanthropy, including board and volunteer leadership at both the state and national levels. She currently serves as Treasurer of The Funders Network, a national philanthropic-serving organization. Her previous board service includes the Iowa Council of Foundations and the Iowa United Methodist Foundation.

Outside of work, Karla enjoys lifelong learning, exploring new interests, and spending time with family and friends. An avid reader and arts enthusiast, she appreciates the vibrant cultural opportunities throughout Linn County, including theatre, music, festivals, and community events. She also enjoys travel and discovering new places, especially when the journey includes tent camping in a state or national park.
