In 1989, Superintendent Harold Hulleman organized a group of MISD supporters to form what is now the Marion Independent School Foundation & Alumni Association. The first projects were small, but thanks to financial support from generous donors over the past three decades. the Foundation has grown to provide a variety of resources for the benefit of MISD students, staff and alumni.
In addition to a robust scholarship program for graduating seniors, the Foundation services MISD with district-wide programming and events for students and their families (such as Start School Right), as well as a twice-yearly internal grant program for staff seeking funding for special projects, innovative curriculum or classroom resources.
With oversight of more than 30 invested funds along with annual and project-specific support from businesses and individuals in the community, the Marion Independent School Foundation & Alumni Association continues its mission to provide educational benefit to those in the MISD community.
