ABOUT
The Central City Growth Organization (formerly known as Central City Mainstreet) is a volunteer-run and volunteer-powered organization focused on business and community development in the Central City area.
Originally formed in 2001, it has worked to preserve historic buildings and attract and support local businesses. Throughout our history, we have worked with the City of Central City, local and national private and government organizations and individual investors to contribute more than $3 million in infrastructure improvements in our historic district. In 2023, CCGO rebranded itself in order to expand its focus beyond the historical main street district and now works to develop growth in all of Central City.
We work to build community through our annual 4th of July and Holiday on Main events, which are beloved town traditions and bring valuable tourism into our small city. We launched a comprehensive Welcome Guide that is distributed at the nearby Pinicon Ridge Campgrounds, informing visiting campers at the park about all of the amenities available to them in our nearby city, which is easily accessible via a paved pedestrian river trail we helped create years ago. We support our businesses through various retail promotions, such as Small Business Saturday and our inaugural Restaurant Week.
We love our community and our small-town local businesses and are deeply committed to their success and prosperity.
We are a 501(c)(3) organization that is entirely funded by donations from the public, local businesses, grants and civic organizations.
