New Free for All: Linn County Arts & Culture Week Brings Free Arts & Cultural Experiences to Linn County
Event Date: Monday, October 19 – Sunday, October 25, 2026
The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation is expanding its celebration of local arts and culture this fall with Free for All: Linn County Arts & Culture Week, taking place October 19–25, 2026.
Building on the success of two years of its Free Admission Days, the weeklong event will give residents and visitors opportunities to experience the diverse arts, history, music, theater and cultural offerings found throughout Linn County — all at no cost.
Fifteen local arts and cultural organizations are participating in this year’s event:
- African American Museum of Iowa
- Brucemore
- Cedar Rapids Museum of Art
- Cedar Rapids Opera
- Coggon Historical Society
- Eastern Iowa Arts Academy
- Fuerzas Culturales Ballet Folklorico de Cedar Rapids
- Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio
- Marion Heritage Center
- National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library
- New Horizons Band of Cedar Rapids
- Orchestra Iowa
- Playtime Poppy
- The Granger House Victorian Museum
- The History Center
Each participating organization will offer its own free experience, program, or activity during the week, giving community members the opportunity to explore something new or revisit a favorite local organization. Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities including songwriting, dance lessons, the opera, a concert band, pottery, the orchestra, history, and so much more!
“During the past two years, we saw how removing the cost of admission can encourage people to visit organizations they may not otherwise experience,” said Joe Heitz, Vice President of Community Impact at the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation. “Participating organizations saw an uptick in attendance, and we hope this expanded week will introduce even more people to the incredible arts and cultural experiences available right here in Linn County.”
Free for All is funded by the Community Foundation and is designed to celebrate Linn County’s diverse arts and cultural community while encouraging residents to discover the organizations, artists and experiences that make the region vibrant.
