Donor Relations Officer Laura Booth Earns Fundraising Distinction

The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation is excited to announce that Donor Relations Officer Laura Booth has been named a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). Awarded by CFRE International, this distinction demonstrates Laura’s commitment to ethical and effective fundraising.

Becoming a CFRE means that Laura has met CFRE International’s high standards for tenure in the profession, education and demonstrated fundraising achievement. She also passed a rigorous written exam. Because of the incredibly high standards, there are fewer than 60 CFREs in the state of Iowa.

“Having a CFRE on our staff enhances our ability to serve philanthropists in our community,” said Michelle Beisker, Vice President of Development at the Community Foundation. “Laura has worked hard to earn this distinction, but this isn’t the end for her—she will continue her work to help nonprofits grow endowments at the Community Foundation.” Laura has served in this role for five years, coordinating stewardship for nonprofit and affiliate fund holders.

The CFRE credential is awarded for a three-year period. To remain a CFRE, Laura will continue her education and achievements in the field.
