The Disaster Recovery Fund was established on August 13, 2020, just days after the devasting derecho. Since then, many individuals, businesses, and organizations have contributed to the fund. When it was established, the fund primarily provided support for derecho recovery efforts. Today, the fund accepts gifts and distributes grants for all disasters—including the pandemic, derecho, or other disasters.
