SUMMARY:8th Annual Beers in the Barnyard
DESCRIPTION:Beers in the Barnyard is the major fundraising event of the Cedar Rapids ParksFoundation. Held at Old MacDonald’s Farm\, Bever Park\, this casual “jeans andflannel shirts” party is an “over 21” fundraiser featuring a picnic meal\, bonfires\, avariety of local beer samplings and wine\, live “chill” music and a stellarsilent auction featuring cool experiences and getaways. This event was attendedby 350 doers\, donors and door openers in 2024 and CRPF is expanding toaccommodate up to 400 guests in 2025.The $60 event ticket includes the picnic meal & desserts\, beer\, wine\, soft drinks\,live music and fun games and giveaways. As CR Parks Foundation celebratesour 8th Annual Beers in the Barnyard\, proceeds from this year’s event will helpsupport enhancements and sustainability projects within our beautiful CR parks.

If you are a nonprofit professional seeking to develop as a leader and practice your speaking skills\, Toastmasters might be a good fit for you. It’s affordable professional development and a great networking tool! Learn more at Discover Your Voice: A Toastmasters Kickoff Meeting on Thursday\, October 9\, 2025\, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. A pizza and salad lunch will be provided for the kickoff meeting at 11:30 a.m.\, with introductions beginning at noon. There will be time for questions and discussion. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP Here\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Nonprofit Toastmasters Group\n\n\n\nThe new Toastmasters group will meet at the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 12 to 1 p.m. Dr. Nate Klein\, Vice President of Education at Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa (and experienced Toastmaster) will lead the introductory period for the new group. The cost to join Toastmasters is a $20 one-time new member fee plus $60 for a six-month membership. The Nonprofit Network of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation is sponsoring the $125 new chapter fee for the group. Hurry\, there are only 25 openings for this group. Please note that membership in this group requires that you are an employee of a Linn County nonprofit organization interested in developing as a leader and practicing your speaking skills.
