DESCRIPTION:The Learning Cohort for Small and Grassroots Nonprofits is held annually during the fall. The content is intended for a small nonprofit that employs five or fewer people or is volunteer-driven without paid staff. There is no cost to participate and lunch is included. Registration is required by Friday\, September 18. \n\n\n\nThis Learning Cohort is a small group setting facilitated by Community Foundation staff to encourage learning and connection. Up to two representatives per organization are invited to participate. Small and grassroots nonprofit organizations have unique learning experiences and challenges\, and this Cohort is designed to offer both essential information and nonprofit connections critical to building a sustainable nonprofit organization.Schedule: \n\n\n\nWednesday\, September 23\, 2026\, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Nonprofit Essentials \n\n\n\nWednesday\, October 14\, 2026\, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Building the Nonprofit \n\n\n\nWednesday\, November 4\, 2026\, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Nonprofit Tools and Resources  \n\n\n\nCost: Free\, includes lunch. \n\n\n\n\nRegister Here

DESCRIPTION:Experience Linn County’s Arts & Culture\n\n\n\nLinn County Arts & Culture Week invites everyone to discover the creativity\, history\, and traditions that enrich our community.\n\n\n\nFrom October 19 – 25\, Linn County residents and visitors are invited to explore the arts and culture experiences that make our county vibrant – all free of charge. \n\n\n\nNew in 2026\, Free for All: Linn County Arts & Culture Week is a weeklong celebration featuring art\, history\, music\, theatre\, and cultural experiences across Linn County.   \n\n\n\nThe event builds on the success of the Community Foundation’s Free Admission Days\, which introduced thousands of people to local museums\, cultural organizations\, and historic sites over the past two years. Encouraged by the community’s enthusiastic response\, the Community Foundation expanded the initiative into a full week of free opportunities to explore\, learn\, and connect.   \n\n\n\n“Participating organizations saw in uptick in attendance\, and visitors were excited by the opportunity to explore\, learn\, and discover something new\,” said Joe Heitz\, Vice President of Community Impact. “By expanding the event to a full week\, we’re able to partner with more organizations and diversify the experiences that will be available. We hope more people will discover and engage with the incredible nonprofits that enrich our community.” \n\n\n\nThe list of organizations and events continues to grow\, with more than a dozen nonprofits expected to participate. From museums and galleries to live performances\, historic sites\, theatres\, and cultural celebrations\, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. \n\n\n\n“The arts can bring the community together in many powerful ways – it can connect people from diverse backgrounds and it can be a common expression of joy and celebration\,” said Andrew Bribriesco of Fuerzas Culturales Ballet Folklorico de Cedar Rapids. “We look forward to sharing our unique expression—ballet folklorico (Mexican folk dance)—with the greater Cedar Rapids community.” \n\n\n\n\nFree for All Calendar of Events – COMING SOON!
