DESCRIPTION:The Learning Cohort for Small and Grassroots Nonprofits is held annually during the fall. The content is intended for a small nonprofit that employs five or fewer people or is volunteer-driven without paid staff. There is no cost to participate and lunch is included. Registration is required here. \n\n\n\nThis Learning Cohort is a small group setting facilitated by Community Foundation staff to encourage learning and connection. Up to two representatives per organization are invited to participate. If you are a nonprofit professional seeking to develop as a leader and practice your speaking skills\, Toastmasters might be a good fit for you. It’s affordable professional development and a great networking tool! Learn more at Discover Your Voice: A Toastmasters Kickoff Meeting on Thursday\, October 9\, 2025\, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. A pizza and salad lunch will be provided for the kickoff meeting at 11:30 a.m.\, with introductions beginning at noon. There will be time for questions and discussion. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP Here\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Nonprofit Toastmasters Group\n\n\n\nThe new Toastmasters group will meet at the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 12 to 1 p.m. Dr. Nate Klein\, Vice President of Education at Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa (and experienced Toastmaster) will lead the introductory period for the new group. The cost to join Toastmasters is a $20 one-time new member fee plus $60 for a six-month membership. The Nonprofit Network of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation is sponsoring the $125 new chapter fee for the group. Hurry\, there are only 25 openings for this group. Please note that membership in this group requires that you are an employee of a Linn County nonprofit organization interested in developing as a leader and practicing your speaking skills.
