Nonprofit Know-How: Prioritizing Equity in Your Linn County Nonprofit
December 16, 2021 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
The Nonprofit Know-How: Prioritizing Equity in Your Linn County Nonprofit virtual event was held on Thursday, December 16. The Community Foundation shared about our learning and strategies to prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in our organization and community over the past several years. Our message is this: we don’t want to simplify a complicated issue, but we do want to provide a path for organizations to engage.
In the spirit of sharing and learning, the event was featured the following presenters and topics:
- Community Foundation Board of Directors engagement in equity efforts by Kate Minette, Board Member and Chair of the Racial Equity Steering Committee
- Forming the new Grantmaking Equity Statement by Karla Twedt-Ball, Senior Vice President, Programs & Community Investment
- Review and update of mission, vision, and values to reflect DEI by Corinne Ramler, Vice President of Marketing & Communications
- Sharing data from the recent racial equity survey of nonprofits by Dylan Cooley, Content & Information Officer
If you were unable to attend, you can find a recording of the event here.

NEXT STEPS
In the weeks ahead, we will be digging into the Nonprofit Racial Equity survey data more deeply to help inform the collaborative work we can do to support the nonprofit community. As we move to the next year, watch for opportunities to engage in this work.
