Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation Approves Over $3.7 Million in Grants

Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation | May 25th, 2023

The Board of Directors of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation recently approved $3.79 million in grants to 239 nonprofit organizations. The awards include competitive Organizational Support Grants and Program Support Grants, as well as distributions from donor-advised, designated, scholarship and agency funds.

The Community Foundation works with donors and provides grants and support to nonprofits in pursuit of a vibrant and inclusive Linn County. In 2022, the Community Foundation distributed $17.4 million in grants.

The Community Foundation’s competitive grant programs are supported by gifts from donors who have entrusted the Community Foundation to make grants that address ever-changing community needs and opportunities. These grant programs support efforts related to innovation, maintaining success and building capacity through a competitive grantmaking process. During this grant cycle, the Community Foundation received over $781,568 in requests for competitive grants and was able to fund $486,668 (or about 62% of the requested amount).
