The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation announces it has once again partnered with DonorsChoose to match gifts to help fund classroom projects in Linn County, Iowa.  DonorsChoose is a nonprofit organization that makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Funding is available to support classroom education projects in Linn County public schools for grades K-12 that cannot be funded through the school’s budget.

Teachers can create classroom projects at DonorsChoose.org, and donors can give any amount to the projects. The Community Foundation provides a 1:1 match for each donation to projects with a total cost of $2,000 or less. The match became available on August 1, 2022, and $25,000 is available.

Currently, 58 projects are posted on DonorsChoose.org by Linn County teachers seeking support for math and reading supplies, STEM activities and games, art materials, cleaning supplies and more. Click here to view the projects and make a gift.

In previous years, the match has been used up by October. In 2021, 59 teachers from 23 Linn County schools participated. One-hundred-eleven projects were funded.
