The  Technical Assistance Grant Program was developed in response to ongoing trends in the nonprofit sector and feedback given during the Linn County Nonprofit Resource Center focus groups in early 2006. 
The goal of this new program is to assist nonprofit agencies in their efforts to build capacity and effectiveness and fund activities that increase the success and impact of the organizations' programs.  Requests from $1,000 up to $5,000 may be made once per calendar year. 

An organization may receive a technical assistance grant once every two years. Applicants who are not successful may re-apply once per calendar year. Technical assistance grants are awarded up to $5,000; requests under $1,000 should be submitted to the President's Fund for consideration.

Examples of past Technical Assistance grants include strategic planning work, board development, and enhanced donor development efforts through software updates. 

Nonprofit agencies that apply for and/or receive a Technical Assistance Grant may also be eligible for other grant awards through the Community Foundation's competitive grant programs in the same year.
