We are pleased to provide these guidelines to enable public and nonprofit community groups to apply for competitive grants from The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation.
These guidelines are designed to help you learn more about the priorities of the Foundation, the programs and services we are seeking to fund, and what we need from you in order to review your application.
The Foundation offers multiple opportunities for funding based on the type of project, organization age and size, and community need. Grant funds are available for both emerging and established organizations for projects ranging from small, time-limited grants to larger multi-year commitments. Detailed information about each competitive fund, along with deadline dates and funding priorities can be found on these pages.
The first step in preparing your grant application is choosing the right grant program or programs. The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation makes grants to nonprofits from a number of programs.

Grant deadlines for 2008 are 4:30 p.m. February 15, June 16, and October 15. These deadlines apply generally to the Community Fund, the Momentum Fund, Field of Interest Funds, and Corporate Donor-Advised Funds. (Not all funds accept applications in all cycles. For details go to How to Apply and click on "Grant Application Deadlines by Fund.") These are receipt deadlines, not postmark deadlines.
See the specific program information for deadlines for the President's Fund, the Technical Assistance Program, Education grants, and County and Neighborhood Grant programs.
If you have questions, we encourage you to contact Karla Twedt-Ball, the Director of Programs. Phone calls are welcome at 319.366.2862.
