Each Field of Interest Fund has a focused area of interest. Applications are accepted for these funds only if they benefit the issue or population specified.
These funds require completion of all questions on the Field of Interest application:
A. Geographic
John A. and Elsie M. Nelson Fund for Marion – Primary emphasis on programs that benefit the quality of life for residents in Marion. Typical awards range from $500 to $3,000.
B. Health Related Programs
Merveaux Fund for Health Related Programs – Typical awards range from $1,000 to $3,500.
Van Nostrand Fund for Health Activities – Typical awards range from $1,000 to $3,500.
These funds require completion of select questions on the Field of Interest application:
C. Health and Human Service Programs
White Cross Society Fund – Health services for low-income working women and their children. Average awards range from $2,000 to $5,000.
Hughes Fund for Church Related Human Services – Projects of churches or non-denominational church-related organizations providing human services. Awards average $450.
D. Human Service Funds:
Hudek Fund for the Homeless and Hungry – Awards average $1,250.
Tokheim Fund for the Homeless and Hungry – Awards average $1,400.
Vern W. Reeder Fund for the Homeless and Hungry – Priority given to organizations in Linn or Johnson County that serve the needs of homeless individuals who are mentally or physically disabled. Awards average $500.
Homer E. and Irma B. Busby Fund for Human Services – Awards average $600.
E. Environment
GP Fund for the Environment – Funding for projects that benefit the environment or ecosystem. Awards average $1,250.
F. Children of Low Income Families
Merveaux Fund for Children of Low Income Families – Awards average $2,750.
G. Historic Preservation
Merveaux Fund for Historic Preservation – Projects involving the historic preservation of community buildings & artifacts. Awards average $2,900.
