Overview of the Jones County Endowment Fund
The Jones County Endowment Fund places priority on improving the economic well-being or quality of life of Jones County residents, improving educational opportunities, community capital improvements, promoting tourism and recreation, and maintaining Jones County heritage. Projects and programs must be located in Jones County. Religious organizations and entities are note eligible. Grant applications are due by Feb. 15, 2010.
The County Endowment program was created by the Iowa Legislature, and is funded by state legislation that distributes half of one-percent of the state's gambling revenues to non-gambling counties.
