Spring Grant Applications Due February 15
Grants to be awarded from the Community Fund, Field of Interest and Competitive Donor-Advised Funds CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – January 11, 2010 – The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation (GCRCF) is accepting applications for the spring grant cycle from nonprofit organizations that are in need of grant funding to enhance the greater Cedar Rapids area. The application deadline for the Community Fund, Field of Interest Funds and various Competitive Donor-Advised Funds is February 15 at 4:30 p.m. The Community Fund provides one-year grants in the amount of $2,000 to $15,000 and seeks applications in all of the traditional categories – Arts & Culture, Community Development, the Environment, Education and Health & Human Service. For the first time, organizations will be able to seek funding renewal for grants that meet defined criteria. Applicants may submit a draft of their Community Fund application by January 29 for review and feedback from the grant programs staff. Various field of interest funds that address community development, the environment, education, arts and culture and health and human services will be awarded from the spring grant cycle in amounts ranging from $500 to $6,000.
